Editing & Mixing
Editing is the process of fine tuning rough tracks. This may include getting rid of unwanted noise such as hiss, clicks and pops, fixing abruptly ending or beginning tracks and silencing dead areas of the recording. In some cases this may also include level adjustment and some processing, depending on the quality or needs of the track. At Jemstone Media we work with both destructive and non-destructive editing.
Mixing is the art of putting it all together and creating a full sounding track with all of the parts balanced to the listening ear. Whether you want your mix in full stereo or mono, we can create the perfect mix for you. At Jemstone Media we can mix up to 16 tracks digital, at either 16 or 24 bit recording quality.
$150 per album (up to 12 tracks, $10 per additional track)
CD Mastering
Mastering is the final stage of music production. We call it “sweetening” in production business. During the mastering process, tracks are equalized, brought up to their optimum sound level and spatially widened to give each track the right amount of space, sparkle and punch it needs to stand out and be heard.
Assembling all of the tracks in their final order, leveling out each track to flow within the album, and creating the final master disc are all part of the CD mastering process. Each piece of music that we master is carefully sweetened based on its own individual needs. We’re not happy until you’re happy.

Analog To Digital Transfer
Do you remember a time before CDs, when you would put all of your music and or conversations on cassette tape? There was a time when cassette tapes were the way for the average consumer to record music. During the 80’s and 90’s, a lot of musicians recorded demos and wrote a lot of songs using 4-track tape recorders.
Assuming this is the case, there are a lot of people out there that have these tracks on tape with no way to play them anymore, or are afraid to play them anymore because the recordings are aged and are wearing out. At Jemstone Media we have the ability to play those recordings one last time on our professional quality cassette machines as we make the final digital copy. We’ll even send you the original tapes back so you can keep them in your archives.

CD Duplication & Digital Distribution
CD Duplication is the process of making copies of CD’s for sale and available to the consumer. When you send your source master to a duplication facility, they are able to clone that information and make an infinite number of copies for you. Currently we are working with Disc Makers as our main replication facility. They offer a multitude of price packages, with an assortment of styles. Whether you need 10 or 10,000, Disc Makers is your best bet. We highly recommend them.
Digital Distribution is nothing more than making your music available digitally for download. These days, a lot more people are choosing to download individual songs or full albums of their favorite artists, rather than buy the physical CD. Compact mp3 players such as, iPods, have made it quicker and easier for people to download and listen to their favorite bands and artists. Jemstone Media is affiliated with CD Baby, which offers a couple of different options for distribution. They can get your music to over 20 retailers worldwide, on such places as iTunes, Napster, eMusic and many more.
